Can I just turn up and windsurf without
booking a course? Yep, sure. You can hire our gear.
If you can produce a RYA level 2 certificate, third party
insurance and have all your own kit you can buy a Day Ticket
from Southern Water, or if you can sail upwind but would like
Bewl Windsurfing's supervision check with us beforehand, Monday
- Friday (except bank holidays).
How well do I need to swim?
Your wetsuit and buoyancy aid keep you afloat but 50 metres
is recommended.
What do I need to bring? Basically
very little, just a pair of old trainers for standing on the
board, clothes to wear under the wetsuit, a towel, shower
gel etc. If you forget something, don't panic, we have a
shop which sells everything you might need, from windsurfing
slippers to boards.

How
does a birthday party work? It's up to you, tell us
what you want. A birthday session is usually 2 hours. We recommend
a fairly small group (max 12), 4-8 is usual number. We can
help and supply you with invitations, directions, consent
forms, banners, balloons and small prizes for on-water activities.
At the end of the session (due to food regulations), you can
picnic, or book our gas BBQ (FOC) or arrange a meal at the
Lookout Restaurant. If you have any non-swimmers in the party,
an Adventure Playground is available.
Do we have to pay car parking fees
when we come for a course, or to buy equipment? Definitely
no, just register with the gatekeeper or follow signs to the
sailing club, but do park as directed by the Bewl Windsurfing
Team.
How do I book a gift voucher?
It's easy. Just phone us up and either pay with a card or
cheque and we will send your voucher by first class post.
The recipient will then phone us and book their date. Remember,
gift vouchers are redeemable against goods, as well as courses,
or hire cards. |
